Department of Cultural Arts & Music
Develops music, performing arts, visual arts, storytelling, artist development, youth arts, festivals, recordings, and other forms of living cultural expression.
The living practices, teachings, symbols, values, history, discipline, faith, family traditions, and institutions through which identity is carried forward.
Culture is preserved by practice. The Tribe seeks to preserve knowledge of history, faith in Allah (God), family responsibility, symbols, records, teachings, ceremonies, education, disciplined conduct, creative expression, and institutional memory.
Cultural restoration should be serious, documented, and respectful. The Tribe recognizes that related peoples may maintain distinct traditions and identities and does not treat kinship as permission to erase or appropriate another people's specific cultural practices.
