The first responsibility of institution-building is to strengthen people. The Tribe's work begins with family, the raising and education of children, respect for elders, healthy relationships, responsibility, discipline, service, and the restoration of knowledge of self.
The Official Tribe of Shabazz is an organized community whose people may live in many cities and states. Community is therefore built through relationships, records, programs, education, mutual responsibility, communication, and institutions — not only by physical proximity.
