A permanent advisory structure designed to bring specialized wisdom, accountability, and strategic counsel to the Office of the Chief.
The Council of 12 Chief Advisors exists to strengthen decision-making through informed counsel. The Council is advisory in character unless a governing instrument or individual appointment expressly grants a particular duty or authority.
The structure preserves twelve advisory seats so that the Tribe can maintain a broad range of expertise across spiritual affairs, family and community life, education, economics, law, security, communications, health and human services, history and culture, finance, diplomacy, infrastructure, and other areas of institutional development.
Advisors are expected to place the welfare of the people above personal interest, protect confidential information entrusted to them, provide candid counsel, disclose conflicts, respect the governing structure, and support orderly succession and institutional continuity.
